How Do I Choose the Right Booking Form/Booking Type?

One thing we’ve learned from developing BookThatApp is that customers request an endless variety of booking scenarios! To simplify this, we’ve introduced different booking forms and product profiles for different applications.

Note: Widgets are our newest type of booking form. We highly recommend using a widget over a classic form.

• Classic forms are available only on the Business plan or higher.

As of May 2022, widgets are available for all booking scenarios except those that require Booking Form 6.

Available Booking Forms

Form 1: Date 📅

• Typically used for renting a physical product.

• Captures a single date or the start date of a rental period.

• The app calculates the duration from the product or variant settings.

• Product profile: Product

Form 2: Date Range

• Captures a start and end date, commonly used for rentals.

• Booking length = number of days in the range.

• Product profile: Product (or Room for hotel/room rentals)

Tip: To update the Quantity based on days chosen:
Settings → Order Processing → Date range updates quantity? ✅

Form 3: Date and Time ⏰

• Provides a date and time picker.

• Typically used for appointments with a regular schedule (e.g., Mon–Fri, 9 am–5 pm).

• Time slots are automatically created based on product duration and opening hours.

• Product profile: Appointment

Note: Available times are based on your Opening Hours.

Form 4: Scheduled Time

• Best for set events like classes or events.

• Displays a date and time picker.

• Product profiles: Class/Course or Tour/Activity

• Using Tour/Activity allows “Number in Party” for variants (e.g., Single Ticket = 1, Family Ticket = 4)

• Can create recurring schedules or one-off dates.

Form 5: Upcoming Events

• Displays a list of upcoming events instead of a date picker.

• Useful for sporadic events to save customers from scrolling.

• Product profiles: Class/Course or Tour/Activity

• “Number in Party” feature available for Tour/Activity variants.

Form 6: From and To Date & Time ⏳

• Similar to Date Range, but includes start and end times.

• Booking length is based on the date range, not the specific times.

  • Example: May 1, 11 am → May 2, 11 am = same duration as May 1, 11 am → May 2, 4 pm.

• Product profile: Product

Tip: To update quantity based on the number of days:

1. Can I use more than one booking form?

• Default installation includes one booking form per store.

• You can add more if needed by editing the booking-form.liquid snippet with HTML if/else statements.

2. How do I change the titles of the booking form?

• Titles can be changed in the booking snippet under Theme Editor → Snippets.

• Navigate in BTA Admin: Settings → Advanced Settings → Datepicker tab.

4. How can I change the color of the booking form?
