This article will walk you through the order and booking process.
This guide will walk you through the order and booking process using BookThatApp.
If you’re already familiar with Shopify and want to dive straight into the app, you can check out the Getting Started Guide or skip ahead to the section that interests you:
Date Range Updates Quantity ⏳
This setting is used when a customer books a date range, and the app needs to track the number of days selected.
To enable:
In the app, go to Settings → Order processing.
Find the Date Range Updates Quantity option and enable it.
When enabled, the app automatically converts the number of days selected into the Quantity applied to the cart item.
Note: While enabled, this setting is automatically applied to all services/products configured in the app.
Known limitation
It is a known limitation of the app that when scheduled product bookings are made with this setting enabled, the quantity is recorded as 1, consistently. This is a scheduled future product update to change.
This limitation can impact scheduled products when Date Range Updates Quantity is enabled. If you are not using the rental booking type with the need to multiply the pricing as per the days selected, we do recommend to set this setting to "No"
Workaround (recommended)
For now, we recommend using variants to represent group size, then adjusting Units via the Variants actions section.
If you’d like, our support team can make this update for you—just share:
the group sizes you want (e.g., 1 person, 2 people, 3 people), and
the Units value for each variant.
Booking Consolidation
BookThatApp allows you to consolidate multiple bookings into a single booking.
To configure:
In the app, go to Settings → Order processing.
Enable Consolidated bookings.
If enabled: Products with the same start/finish date/time and location appear in a single booking.
If disabled: Each line item from the Shopify order will have its own booking in the app
Order Notes
Many Shopify themes include a Notes field in the cart. You can have these notes automatically copied to the booking.
To enable:
Go to Settings → Order processing.
Under Copy Note?, select Yes to include the Shopify order note in the booking.
Group Bookings
BookThatApp supports the ability to take group bookings. You can enable booking fields such as customer name and email which will allow you to capture the contact details of each person in the group. You can then email or individually contact each person in the group or send out reminders to each person in the group rather than only the person who placed the order.
In the app, you will select Settings-> Order processing then select Yes in the Booking contact section.
Auto-Order Tags 🏷️
Order tags can come in handy when you want to automatically add a tag to the booking and order as you receive the booking. An example use of auto-adding tags would be to add a tag noting that the product needs to be shipped when you receive the booking.
To specify your tags that will be added automatically, in the app you will select Settings-> Order processing then enter the tags in the field beneath the Order tags label.
Fulfillment
The app offers the ability to automatically fulfill a Shopify order once the booking date has passed.
In the app, you will want to select Settings-> Order processing and scroll down to the Booking completion section of the page. By selecting the
Adding and Removing Tags
Booking tags are a great way to group your bookings. Some real-world applications for the booking tags are noting a group preference or allergy, specifying when a batch of rental products has been shipped or noting after contacting your customers to confirm they will arrive for their scheduled appointment.

The pdf tickets can be edited in the app by selecting Settings-> Templates-> Ticket.
