⚙️ Rental Widget Settings in BookThatApp

The Rental Widget in BookThatApp lets you customize how rental products are displayed and booked on your store.
Below is an overview of each setting you’ll find in the widget’s configuration section.

🏷 General Information

Name
Use this field to describe what the widget is for. You can create multiple rental widgets with different setups, so choose a clear, descriptive name.

Type (static)
Displays the type of widget. This can’t be changed.

ID (static)
Shows the widget’s unique internal identifier (used by the app to track it).

🎨 Interface Settings

Design Widget
Click this to quickly open the app’s Branding Configuration section, where you can customize the widget’s look and feel (colors, fonts, etc.).

Display Mode
Choose how the widget appears on your product page:

• Inline – appears directly on the page

• Popup – opens in a separate overlay

Booking Fields
Displays any extra booking fields you’ve created in the app’s Booking Fields section.

Swatches
Shows product variants as clickable swatches (instead of a dropdown menu).

Display Legend
Enable this to show a legend explaining the meaning of each color or symbol used in the widget.

Show Start Date
Displays the Start Date field for customers to choose when their rental begins.

Show Choosing Duration
Displays the Duration option so customers can select how long they want to rent the item.

Include Return Date
Shows the End Date field to indicate when the rental period finishes.

Allow Date Range
Lets customers select a start and end date range for the booking.

💡 Tip: When used with the Date range updates quantity? setting (found under Settings → Order Processing), the widget will automatically apply a daily rate based on the selected dates.

Header Background Color
Set the background color for the widget’s header area.

Legend Background Color
Set the background color for the legend section.

Remaining Places
When enabled, the widget displays the number of available spaces below the Start Date field.

🔁 User Flow

Redirect
Choose what happens after a customer adds a product to their cart:

• Go to the Cart Page

• Go directly to Checkout

• Continue Shopping

Waitlist
Turn this on to enable the waitlist feature, allowing customers to join a list when an item is fully booked.

⏰ Time Settings

Show Time Pickers
Adds start and end time selectors to the widget.

⏱ Note: Time selection does not affect how the app calculates booking duration.
For example, a rental from 11 AM on May 1st to 11 AM on May 2nd counts the same as one ending at 8 AM or 4 PM on May 2nd.

Time Format
Choose whether time slots are based on:

• The product’s configured duration, or

• A custom time interval you define below.

Time Slot Generation
Similar to Time Format, this setting controls how time slots are created — either using the product’s set duration or a custom interval.

📍 Location

Location Picker
Allow customers to choose from the list of configured locations (if your business operates from more than one place).

💲 Pricing Settings

Price
Show or hide the product’s price within the widget.

Price Format
Choose whether to display the abbreviated currency symbol from your Shopify settings (e.g., USD).

🧩 Choices

Resource
Let customers select specific resources such as staff, rooms, or equipment.

Quantity
Allow customers to book multiple units at once.

Set Minimum Quantity
After enabling this, you can set a minimum number that must be booked before checkout.
