Connect your appointment-based business to Google Search and Maps so customers can book directly β without visiting your Shopify storefront.
Requirements β
All of the following must be true before you can enable this integration:
- Your store is in the Beauty Vertical industry (e.g. barbershops, salons, spas, massage parlors, hair removal studios).
- Your business is listed on Google Maps. If you can't find your listing, contact Google Maps support directly.
- Your products are configured using the Appointment booking type.
- Your products have a price greater than $0.
Setup βοΈ
- In the app, go to Settings β Google Reserve.
- Check the box to enable the integration.
- Review all fields on the page β these are pre-populated from your Shopify store, but you must verify them carefully:
- Your business name and address must exactly match what appears on your Google Maps listing. Minor differences β a missing suite number, an abbreviated street name β can cause the location match to fail.
- All fields are required except Direct Merchant Payment Information.
- Select Save.
Note: Google syncs once per day. Wait at least 24 hours after enabling before testing.
For Google's official matching guidelines, see: developers.google.com/maps-booking/partner-portal/merchant-matching-guidelines
How It Works
Once the integration is live:
- Customers can complete an appointment booking via Google Search or Maps.
- The booking is created in BTA automatically.
- Bookings appear in your Google Calendar and can be updated or cancelled there β but note that Google syncs those changes once per day. This schedule is set by Google and cannot be modified.
Troubleshooting
If more than 24 hours have passed since setup and bookings from Google are still not appearing in the app, contact us at support@bookthatapp.com.
